Judge wants mediation in student-athlete lawsuit against UHart

By Ivan Moreno (Jan. 7, 2022, 3:27 p.m. EST) – Connecticut federal judge suggests mediation in student-athlete lawsuit challenging University of Hartford’s plan to move from Division I to Division III sports, according to an order from Thursday.

US District Judge Michael P. Shea said in a three-sentence order that he intended to send the case back to mediation unless the parties believe it “would be clearly unproductive at this point.” The judge gave each party until Jan. 13 to file objections if they are against mediation.
